Quiet adventure games for late nights

July 10, 2026 · Lukas Brandt

Some nights you don't want a challenge, you want a mood. Slow adventure games are perfect for that, and mobile is a surprisingly good home for them.

Lantern Hollow is our current favorite in this space. It's hand-drawn, gentle, and full of small puzzles that reward attention instead of speed. Play it with headphones and it becomes something else entirely.

The best of these games use a hint system that helps without spoiling. When we got stuck on a lantern puzzle, a soft nudge kept us moving without robbing the satisfaction of solving it.

They're usually short, and that's a feature. A tidy four-hour adventure you actually finish beats a hundred-hour game you abandon.
